Kariji Jones, a native of Snow Hill, studied band in middle school and high school before continuing his studies in the music department at Lenoir Community College. Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Winans, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock, to name a few, were some of Kariji’s earliest musical influences. Kariji has over 25 years of experience performing jazz, gospel, and R&B. If there were a specialty with all that expertise, it would be writing, arranging, and directing music. With that being said, it is fitting why Kariji’s name, meaning “Master Builder,” signifies his ability to musically put everything in place.

Thanks to his work as an accompanist for numerous churches, performances, and solo artists from all over the globe and across many different genres, Mr. Jones has a wealth of experience in the music industry. He has previously worked with a variety of individuals, including Pastor Mike Jr., Q Parker, Shaquille O’Neal’s “All The Way Live Band” with Rodney Perry, Muni Long, Mario, as well as gospel legends Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett, Christina Bell, Bishop Clarence McClendon, James Fortune, and Benny Hinn.

Kariji spent years honing his musical abilities in Los Angeles, where he received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for the series Tough Love. He achieved his first major sync placement with Disney’s Saturdays and Fox’s NASCAR RaceDay with the song “Swag.” Kariji also has original music available through various sync licensing companies with offices in Chicago and Los Angeles.

In addition to his work as a musician and creative director, Kariji is the visionary behind Sound Sphere, a creative workshop and training academy designed to empower aspiring musicians and artists through innovative instruction, mentorship, collaborative experiences, and hands-on music education. Through programs in piano, guitar, and digital music technology, Sound Sphere creates opportunities for creators of all ages to develop their craft, build confidence, and bring their sound to life in a nurturing, community-centered environment.

Kariji devotes his life to playing and healing as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He respects the influence of sound and music and works hard to be a better person and father for his four children, family, and society. He continues to showcase his unique manner and gift for music composition by utilizing his in-depth musical knowledge, outgoing personality, and creative ability.
